Tactical Tailor
Today, I would like to start a new addition to the site. What I’d like to call the “BUSINESS REVIEW”. This is where I’d like to introduce all of you to a company that I believe either deserves your business or offers a superior product that I think you could benefit from.
Todays company is “Tactical Tailor”, a fine local company here in Washington State. Lakewood, Washington as a matter of fact. Just outside the gates of Fort Lewis, in the beautiful Puget Sound area of the Pacific Northwest.
Tactical Tailor was started by a young man, Logan Coffey, while he served our country in the US Army. Logan was always inventing and tinkering with things in an attempt to improve on what was being offered. With these personal character traits he began his first enlistment in the Army and was stationed at Schofield Barracks, in the Hawaiian Islands.
Logan, quickly became the “go to” guy for equipment modifications. Starting with rucksack improvements and ghillie suits but soon he took on the challenge of making more practical, efficient and comfortable field gear. He accomplished this both through modifications to military issued equipment as well as building his own designs. His hobby ultimately began to take over his life. During his second enlistment he was stationed at Fort Lewis and his reputation had continued to grow. It was at the end of his second enlistment that he decided to see if he could make a full time business out of his passion for equipment modification and design.
It was in 1998 that Logan officially launched his business – Tactical Tailor. He wanted to offer his creations and expertise to all branches of the military as well as the law enforcement community.
As with any business, Tactical tailor had to balance the demands of the customers with the needs of the company. He made many personal sacrafices to keep his company moving forward. Slowly he was able to acquire the needed retail and manufacturing space that the company required.
Logan had made it a point that Tactical Tailor attempt to hire ex-military, retired military and military spouses, whenever possible to give back to those that have given so much to serve their nation! Tactical Tailor has a commitment to quality that is second to none. Logan had pride in knowing that he was providing quality gear and good jobs to hard working Americans. He had the opinion that you “Do whats right, just because its right”. All Tactical Tailor products are “designed and manufactured in the USA, for those who protect the USA”.
I have personally purchased many products from Tactical Tailor. I have used them hard and they have even accompanied me on trips as far away as Central America. There has never been a time that I’ve regretted any purchase made from this fine company. I personally own some of the earliest additions of original equipment that Logan built and was offering at one of our large regional Gun Shows back in the late 90′s. As well as many pieces that I have purchased more recently.
My equipment has never let me down in anyway! However, I had seen some newer options on the more recent offerings and took an older pack in to be upgraded. Tactical Tailor took in my equipment and not only did they complete the upgrades I had asked for but added additional stitching throughout. They retrofitted and upgraded the waist belt for me as well, all at no additional charge.
Folks, these guys stand behind there equipment 100%. I can’t say for sure how they handle warranty work, my equipment hasn’t ever needed any! I offer you my highest level of confidence in recommending them for any of your equipment needs. They do offer a 100% lifetime guarantee on all of their products but I would be astonished if you ever had to test them on that. They have an incredible reputation here locally that I can personally attest to but they are a nationally known and respected company as well.
I encourage you to check out their website http://www.tacticaltailor.com. They offer just about any possible piece of gear you could dream up. From packs to holsters, they either have what you need or will work with you to design something custom.
If you find yourself in their area, they have a great retail store as well! Make sure you stop by and see these guys! This is top quality 100% American made gear! You won’t be disappointed!
Sadly, this isn’t quite the end of my post for today! I have to explain that back in April 2008, Logan Coffey was killed in a tragic automobile accident. Though he is missed greatly by his family and friends, his legacy is very much alive in his company. He has many dedicated employees as well as family that are committed to seeing his vision carried forward.
This is the kind of company all of us hope to be doing business with. Even some of us business men would hope to own a company like this. These guys are the real deal and I know they’ll be around to support the needs of their customers for many years into the future!
