Electricity is not a necessity, it's a convenience.

If you were putting together a list of the 100 items you would need to help you through a survival situation electricity or its generation would not be on it. The amount of money and resources you would give up to purchase a generator and the fuels to run it would be far better spent on other items.

Have a good look at what is in your refrigerator and freezer and ask yourself 'is there a better way'.

Several years ago we altered our gardening methods so that we have successional plantings which enabled us to eat more produce straight from the garden instead of having to freeze it and a number of items we were keeping in the refrigerator we found substitutes for that do not need to be refrigerated.

Very good post. I've found your blog via Google and I'm really glad about the information you provide in your articles. Btw your sites layout is really broken on the Kmelon browser. Would be great if you could fix that. Anyhow keep up the good work!
