A feeling hangs in the air…

Posted by: | Comments (0)

For quite a while now there’s been a feeling hanging in the air. Maybe better described as an unseen under current that most of us in the survivalist circles have felt, something is off! Actually so many somethings are off that we struggle to put our finger on any one thing and call it the source of the unease we all feel. We know it’s there but what exactly is the issue? Many of us are still employed, even gainfully employed. Probably our families are doing well and have missed no meals, yet the hair on our arms still finds itself standing straight up more often than it has in the past? Troubling!

I was doing a little surfing (net surfing) this morning and stumbled onto this reference to a Leonard Cohen song, it sounded familiar but I haven’t attempted to find it in its entirety yet. This short section seemed to speak to me as I read it… Is this what we’ve been feeling? Read it for yourself and see if it doesn’t say the same things to you as it did to me? I know it isn’t profound or even greatly written – it is just a short section of a song but something about it carried a more meaningful note in my mind…

“Everybody Knows”

Everybody knows that the dice are loaded
Everybody rolls with their fingers crossed
Everybody knows that the war is over
Everybody knows the good guys lost
Everybody knows the fight was fixed
The poor stay poor, the rich get rich
That’s how it goes
Everybody knows
Everybody knows that the boat is leaking
Everybody knows that the captain lied
Everybody got this broken feeling
Like their father or their dog just died

Dare we hope?

Posted by: | Comments (0)

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DRwlVGa6YAk

Is it a fluke or possibly do we still have hope as individual citizens in America. In the attached youtube video you’ll see the kind of heroics that I believe used to be much more of a rule in America, as opposed to the distinct exception we find now.

I hope you all took a few minutes to watch the news clip about the sheriff in Nevada. Importantly we need to note that when challenged the FEDS decided to back down or at least back down for the time being. I was directed to this video by another website that I follow and I fully support what the sheriff is doing. I personally feel a sense of hope that I haven’t in along time. An authority figure that is actually standing on the constitution of the United States as well as his own State constitution – refreshing.

As I watched the interview or clips of the interview the sheriff gave and heard the description of how the FEDS attempted to use threat of force to gain the compliance of what they apparently misjudged as the “little guy”, I was reminded of a description of America I began hearing several years ago. That of a “Paper Tiger”, I can’t recall which countries leader used that description to illustrate the current state of America on the global scene? It doesn’t really matter, as it isn’t true in the most literal sense, we (America) could enforce our will around the globe if we really chose to. Unfortunately, we all to often are seeing the Presidents (Sitting and past) abusing our military men and women by using their presence as nothing more than a political mind game at best and quite possibly for their own financial gain at worst.

Oh yeah, I was building up to a point… The point that when this courageous sheriff stood his righteous ground, the FEDS had to back down, at least for the time being. While I imagine that he hasn’t seen the last of the federal goon squad or maybe he’ll get off easy? Easy being to only have the IRS perform a full rectal audit next spring. I pledge that if I’m made aware of his coming under any persecution, I’ll help financially as best I can and work to spread the word of the injustice… Alright, back to the point I was going after – I wonder if this lack of Federal spine we see in the governments inability to commit to winning against it’s military rivals or following through on it’s “threats” against Podunk county sheriffs is the beginning of a turning of the tide. I guess what I’m thinking is that now may be the opportunity to push back that line in the sand. I know of many people that have continued to try to accommodate the constant pushing of the government agenda and continued to say that one day they’d have to push back against the heavy handed politicians with their alphabet soup agency enforcers… Is now the time to start pushing? If your adversary shows their hand, even in a small way, wouldn’t it be prudent to use that information to further your own agenda?

I suppose I could be reading more into this than is actually there but is it possible I’m not? You decide for yourself but I challenge each of you to at the very least think about it. We all have things in our life that we feel compelled to do because we feel that the threat of government persecution would be worse than just complying with the stooges. What if there are no stooges? What if the stooges have lost their will to fight any determined enemy? All around us we see an American laziness or decadence that could easily be compared to other once great nations throughout history. What if our government enforcers have grown just as lazy as their subjects? This is no more than just another thought exercise and of course I am not now and will not ever advocate the breaking of any laws. That said I know all of you are smarter than the average… What if? What if we as a small cross section of what remains of our once great, proud nation – pushed back, when and where we next find something distasteful. Wait, it couldn’t just be something distasteful – if we pushed back every time we saw something distasteful on the streets of America we’d succeed only in wearing ourselves out…? It would need to be illegal or immoral  and most importantly outside of the confines of the constitution…

It would be hard for me to say exactly where these small battles might be found and what the ground to be retaken might be – I just encourage you to start looking, I doubt it would take long to discover an injustice happening to someone at the hands of any number of the ever growing government infringers!

Personally I would like to admit that I have tried to turn a blind eye to the disgrace that I used to be able to spot under just about any rock I chose to kick. I found that I was far less angry and stressed out when I just gave in and fell into line like a good little tax slave. Maybe I’m to far gone to find a line in the sand and dare it be crossed. A relatively small group of men did change history a couple of hundred years ago, they pledged their time, treasure and sacred honor… Eventually they also were victorious! Could something like that happen again? Will this fledgling movement by small time county sheriffs be the tip of the GREAT PATRIOTIC AMERICAN ICEBERG, tearing into the side of an unsinkable ship of modern American politics as usual? I hope it is, how about you? Many of us have been waiting for something to happen for more than few years now and this or something similar might just be it?

Keep your eyes open and find your line in the sand, hopefully the enemy isn’t already on the near side of it!

Mass Hypnosis

Posted by: | Comments (0)

Lately I’ve had additional time to ponder the meaning of life and what the future might have in store for us… (I did say additional time, I know that at least a few of you are wondering why I’m so delinquent in getting posts up if I have the additional time? The truth is I spend a great deal of my day behind the steering wheel, time to think and time to write are two very different things). When I say what the future might hold, I’m of course thinking big picture, the economy and freedom erosion, etc…

It was during one of these lost in thought moments that I nearly ran over a bicyclist. Yep, that’s right, I was in down town Seattle and the bike was weaving in and out of traffic and had I not snapped out of my trance I would have plowed into this moron. Instead I get the finger and some choice words about sharing the road… The following thoughts are what stemmed from my near collision…

When we look out at the society we live in currently, at least I think that most of us live here, what do we see? It would appear that most everything is counter intuitive any more. Women dressing as men, more scary – men dressing as women. The few with more rights and protections than the many? I recently heard or read, I can’t recall which, the story about a law suit filed against a mexican restaurant chain. In a nutshell, the restaurant was sued over there marketing slogan – “The Chipolte experience”, this particular restaurant is basically fast food and the meal is prepared to order while you watch. The suit was brought by a disabled patron in a wheel chair. Their complaint was that they were being denied the “Chipolte experience”, because the restaurant didn’t make a provision to allow the disabled to view their food being prepared? I don’t believe that the dollar amount that exchanged hands was disclosed but the restaurant did settle out of court with this individual. Does this make your blood boil or is it just me?

I’m sure that I’m not alone in the way I usually cope with this? Turning a blind eye to the things that just don’t make sense as it is much easier than allowing yourself to be driven crazy by this madness… While I’m not going to advocate violence, I do adhere to the belief that a little healthy fear in a society isn’t always a bad thing.

When I was a kid I recall that there were neighbors yards that I made sure to never set foot in as the owner was suppose to be a wacko or something. The point wasn’t that I had a wacko living in the neighborhood or not but that the fear of what going in someone else’s yard might mean kept me from doing it. How about the old corporal punishment in the schools? I know that my father explained that if I was ever to receive “swats” at school from the principal, I would receive twice as many from him when I got home. Knowing that Dad meant it, I steered clear of a lot of trouble on the play ground if it looked like it could be blamed on me!

What would a healthy level of fear look like in my ideal society? How do you describe what should just be a natural state? If you’re a female maybe you think twice about parking in that dark parking structure when your be yourself, instead of believing the police will be there to protect you? How about if you were to trespass on someone else’s land, the seed of doubt bubbling up in your mind that you might be shot? In addition to possibly getting yourself shot the knowledge that the law would be on the side of the land owner might make a person think twice…? I think that my ideal society is the same society we all lived in, up until several decades ago. That is at least in America!

A healthy level of fear would do more to protect us than it would to scare us! My wife and I have been doing a little hiking lately and we frequently see single women out on the trail. Single meaning alone, not necessarily unmarried of course. Women in the woods all by themselves? My gut reaction as a modern American would be, “well of course, why shouldn’t a free American women go anywhere she wants, the same a man?”. Just like the wheel chair customer thought about being denied the right to see their food being prepared at Chipolte, we’re all equal and should be able to have exactly what the other guy gets…? HOGWASH!

In reality this unhealthy belief or over confidence will either get that women in the woods hurt or possibly worse. I think as a society we have brainwashed ourselves from the top down that we can do whatever we feel like doing and there won’t be any consequences. Wrong, there will be consequences and they are going to be much worse when the day of reckoning comes, the longer we behave as if they don’t apply to us. This eventuality applies to us personally as well as collectively as a nation. The government as of late has been running wildly off further and further into left field with their actions and responses to the current problems we face economically. Whoa to the unprepared when this all unwinds, we will all know the truth but in this case I doubt it will be setting any of us free!

That bicyclist in down town Seattle is just another good example of what has become of common sense these days. A man on a bike that thinks because society says riding a bike to work is a good idea means he is immune to the forces of nature? Weather it comes in the form of nothing more than gravity or ends in the crippling effect of metal on flesh, this wrong belief could very well get him hurt or even killed. Then of course there’s the age old gun control debate… We don’t need guns to protect ourselves, that’s what the police are for – right? The fact that we even have to defend against this ass-hattery is proof positive that we are living in a age of mass hypnosis!

Is there hope for a civilization that no longer has the understanding that the rules of the universe require there to be an iron clad relationship between cause and effect? I don’t think that we will have to wait much longer to find out the answer to this question? Stay tuned in to the world around you and see if you don’t start spotting the blatant disregard of all things logical going on all around you everyday!

Food for thought!
